MARIANNE FAITHFULL

British singer-song writer Marianne Faithfull visits Sweden for an intimate and unique concert att Berns. She will perform together with guitarist DOUG PETTIBONE.

At the end of 2009, Marianne Faithfull had a success tour in Australia. In March this year, she and Pettibone sold out in Oakland, Californa. The Oakland Tribune's review started with: "The Faithfull faithful have been rewarded. Her vocals sounded as strong as one could reasonably expect ? gritty, worn and evocative, pretty much the same as they have on her last few albums. She was also in fine spirits and full of curiously entertaining anecdotes".

Marianne Faithfull is an award winning English pop icon, songwriter and actress whose career spans over four decades. She is also know as Mick Jagger's former girlfriend and made a break-through with the Stones-song "As Tears Go By" in the 1960ies followed by the two other hits "Summer Nights" and "This Little Bird" from 1965. After a long commercial absence, she returned late in 1979 with the landmark album, Broken English. Faithfull's subsequent solo work was often critically acclaimed. On the latest album Easy Come, Easy Go she collaborated with Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright, Keith Richards, Jarvis Cocker, Antony among others.
