Epithet ”Guitar virtuoso” is more of an understatement when it comes to Steve Vai. He is beyond that description and uplifted to something so much more. He his a visionary with a never-ending creativity and a technique master who controls his instrument like no one else.
As a twelve year old he took guitar lessons at Joe Satriani -the mentor who also educated Metallica’s Kirk Hammett. Steve Vai was a musical wonder child and at the age of 18 was he discovered by no one less than the man Frank Zappa. He became Zappas guitarist for a few years on the road and was given the assignment to play some of the most complex and advanced sections in the repertoires.
In the mid 80s Steve moved toCalifornia and released his first solo album before he took Yngwie Malmsteen’s place in the heavy metal band Alcatrazz. During the following years Steve Vai became a popular and wanted guitarist and started playing with people like David Lee Roth and became a member of the Whitesnake.
He is now back with his eight solo albums”The Story of Light” and with special guest Aimee Mann. This fall the guitar legend is finally coming to Sweden for three concerts
